Finally..

Starting this blog was the hardest thing I have ever done. Simply because I was afraid of talking about boring topics that people might not like. This blog was one of my "Professional Writing" assignments. I really enjoyed it and I found it very helpful in terms of both writing and communicating skills. Also, it taught me not to shy about my opinions and topics I have in mind.

Professional Writing class taught plenty of things, not only writing. I learned that writing is a better way to communicate your skills and personal qualifications. Also, I learned how to write a resume and cover letter. These two main documents are the more powerful elements that will help you to get a better job in the future. However, many students at university don't have an idea about how to write them. Thus, I believe this course (Profissional Writing) must be given to all university students.
Another thing that the course had taught me is the distinction between hard and soft skills. Before taking this course I didn't know the differences between both. But after taking the course, I found that I have a balance between both skills. And as I mentioned in my seventh blog, the university helped me a lot in developing my soft skills. Additionally, I meet with such wonderful students in this course, and we did many activities that needed us to discuss and communicate with each other. Also, I developed my hard skills by writing business letters, memos, emails, etc. Consequently, I have now a very clear idea about both skills and how I will apply them in my future job.

 What to do next?

Next semester will be my final semester. I really enjoyed my major and minor. Before university, I didn't have any idea about linguistics. But now I would say that it is my first and final interest. My little secret in getting good grades was my passion for linguistics and translation. However, I will never stop reading about linguistics.
Learning about soft and hard skills will help me a lot in doing my master's degree, which requires a good writer and communicator. It is noteworthy that this course helped me in preparing my professional document that will be needed when I will apply for my future job. I have now a well written and revised resume, CV, and cover letter.
I am very glad that I developed my communication and writing skills this semester. Thus, I am ready for my capstone next course.
My passion for linguistics and translation will never stop. After graduating from university, I will start with my master's degree, when I will improve my general knowledge about the world, and specifically about linguistics.

Finally, I want to tell you a secret:
I took 4 hours writing my first blog, and I took only one hour writing this one!

Thank you for reading my blog, and keep the hard work!
